How It Works
We believe that family portraits are the most valuable art you’ll ever own, meant to be seen, appreciated, and passed down through the generations of your family.
At Michelle's, we begin with the end in mind. We’ll discuss which fine art products you would like to display as well as your budget, and we will work together to design the perfect fine art for your family, and your home.
The Process:
Are you ready for a family portrait but not sure where to display them? Since we begin with the end in mind, let’s find the perfect spot to hang your portraits and tell your story. Do you have a tall, skinny spot above your fireplace or an empty hallway begging for art? Before Michelle ever picks up her camera she will have a plan for where and how your images will be displayed in your home. Amazing art that reflects your families personality and style in a collection of images that fits your needs.
Maybe you want to start a family gallery and incorporate older images with future portraits you are commissioning. We can make that happen. Even if you have no ideas or are moving into a new space, we will help design a plan that will allow you the ability to add and grow your collection throughout the years.
Creative Consultation
Your first step is a call with Michelle to gather a little information about your family and discover all of the unique personalities and family dynamics. Who are you? What is it that makes your family unique? How and where do you spend time together? “Family pets are always welcome!”
She will discuss all the details of your family, ages and personal styles and can schedule a short visit to the studio if needed to view all of the beautiful fine art options available. What types of clothing will best represent who you are and how that will blend into the art we are creating for your wall in addition to the most suitable areas of your home for portraits.
If you are working with an interior designer, Michelle will combine her expertise with theirs to ensure that the art she is creating for you is in line with the decor of your home. The consultation is the starting point that allows your final images to shine in the perfect space of your home.
The Portrait Session
Now it’s time for FUN!
If you’ve had your family photographed in the past, you might recall that it can be a bit stressful. Not to worry. Michelle has been photographing children and families for 36 years.
If you can get the clothes and the kids here, Michelle will handle the rest. Our studio space is comfortable and inviting, allowing for a private dressing room and plenty of space to relax. Our hope for you and your family is that this is a day of fun and laughter. An experience that you will cherish as much as you do the portraits themselves.
Viewing & Order
Approximately 2 weeks after your portrait session you will come back to the studio for your view & order appointment. This is the time you will enjoy viewing your images in our theater room for the first time. Be sure to schedule a time when all decision-makers can be present as you will be making the final selection of your images and placing your order. We will guide you every step of the way using the design goals from your creative consultation to achieve your vision.
With state-of-the-art software and images of the walls in your home we will be able to ensure proper sizing and placement of your fine art wall collection.
Delivery & Installation
About 4 - 6 weeks after your order has been placed, your fine art portraits and wall collections will be ready for delivery. I will provide you with all of the necessary hardware and instructions for easy installation.
